Information Computer Technology (ICT)

Years 10 and 11

In Years 10 and 11, students have the opportunity to study two discrete subjects within the ICT department; they can study either ICT as a vocational subject, and or Computing as a GCSE subject. Both the ICT and Computing courses are assessed by OCR examination board. The courses both follow on from units taught during Key Stage 3 at Ely College.

The Computing course develops students’ knowledge, skills and understanding of programming concepts and key elements of Computer Science. It is a pre-requisite for studying Computer Science at A-levels and beyond. The ICT course delivers practical skills used in everyday business and equips students with key knowledge and skills required for performing administrative tasks within a professional business environment.
