AN EXCEPTIONAL COLLEGE FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNITY

Welcome to Ely College

a Meridian Trust 11-18 Academy located in the beautiful city of Ely.

Ely College and Bishop Laney Sixth Form has  over 1550 students and a deeply committed staff with a shared vision to deliver an exceptional school for our exceptional community. We want every student to receive an inspiring education, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed beyond the classroom.

We are proud of the achievements of our students, and of the provision on offer.  We hope that you find this website a useful source of information about our work, and look forward to welcoming you to the college.

Our Values

The academy is sponsored and supported by Meridian Trust, which was founded at the 'Outstanding' Swavesey Village College, Cambridgeshire.

Meridian Trust exists to provide, support and champion high-quality education at the heart of local communities.

  • Achievement for all
  • Valuing People
  • A high quality learning environment
  • The pursuit of excellence
  • Extending the boundaries of learning

Our House System

The Houses provide crucial support and guidance, and the needs of every student are acknowledged and understood by their tutor and senior tutor. The system enables individual progress to be monitored much more closely and the House is the key focus of the relationship between the academy and families, with siblings joining the same House.
